Director of Claims

Sara Balko serves as the Director of Claims at Roadrunner. In this role, she leads a team of analysts who research and process all cargo claims while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. With a strong focus on quality improvement and claim prevention, Sara is passionate about developing and implementing processes that safeguard customers’ freight and enhance their overall experience. She takes pride in finding creative solutions that protect shipments and strengthen customer confidence in Roadrunner.

Sara began her logistics career more than 27 years ago as a claims assistant at Roadrunner, after working as a dispatcher for K&R Express. Over the years, she has gained deep expertise in cargo claims and process improvement, helping to shape Roadrunner’s approach to customer protection and service excellence. Outside of work, Sara is an avid sports fan who enjoys traveling with friends and family to explore new baseball stadiums across the country.
